REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper

START DATE: November 15 & December 1, 2014


The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring that the cleanliness and the quality of the hotel’s guest rooms meet the highest of industry standards, therefore providing our customers with an outstanding product. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper and the Housekeeping Supervisors, the Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring Hotel guestrooms are cleaned and arranged to the superior presentation standards of Delta Hotels & Resorts. The position is accountable for modeling and acting in accordance with the Delta’s Core Values and Code of Ethics.

  • Prepare all assigned rooms within the allotted time
  • Ensure all aspects of a room are in working order and that the room is cleaned to the highest quality standards
  • Ensure that the Hotel is maintained to the highest standards, and that work is always performed in a professional manner
  • Follow established Brand Operating and Service Standards (Community Codes)
  • Exceed the expectations of all guests through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently and politely to all requests, questions, concerns, and/or complaints
  • Consistently take ownership of guest issues and follow up to ensure satisfaction through the empowerment process
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Housekeeper


  • Role model and ambassador, always representing the Brand, Hotel and your team with the utmost professionalism, modeling the core values
  • Will work in compliance with the hotel’s Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Work towards continuous improvement and quality in all areas
  • Follows company policies and procedures at all time
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Housekeeper


  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Housekeeping process and previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or resort environment considered an asset
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and guest service skills
  • Team player and a self-starter, able to work independently and effectively as required
  • High quality cleaning standards with superior grooming standards
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and as necessary to guests’ and team members’ needs
  • Awareness and use of environmentally sound practices
  • Ability to work effectively in an innovative and multi-task environment
  • Able to meet physical demands of job
    • Since cleaning is the major responsibility of this position, Room Attendants spend a significant portion of their workday involved in the following: unlocking, opening, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending and stretching.
    • The vast majority of the time is spent moving about the property in order to clean guestrooms, and this is usually accomplished by walking.
    • In addition to operating a vacuum cleaner, Room Attendants typically lift and pull items weighing as much as 25 pounds and pull/ push up to 200 pounds. Proper lifting techniques are required
