JOB SUMMARY:

This occupation helps to build the Delta Edmonton South experience for our customers through a ‘customer comes first’ attitude by providing hands-on timely quality service, exceptional value, and a superior product. Reporting to the Chief Engineer and the Assistant Chief Engineer, the Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring the Hotel is maintained to the standards of the Delta Edmonton South Hotel. The position is accountable for modeling and acting in accordance with the Delta’s Core Values and Code of Ethics.

 

 

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repairing and maintaining all building operation systems to ensure excellent working order
  • Providing prompt and/or immediate response to maintenance requests from our guests and team members
  • Completes assigned work in a timely, efficient manner
  • Assists contractors when necessary
  • Complies with the standards of the Alberta Building Code
  • Works closely with other departments to achieve maximum guest satisfaction
  • Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Responds to all calls in a quick, timely and orderly manner
  • Assists with all duties in the Maintenance Department
  • Must be able to keep a detailed log of daily duties
  • All other duties as assigned by management

 

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Self-starter, shows initiative and can make a decision in a fast paced changing environment
  • Personable, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to work under pressure
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Must be fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • Able to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts
  • Maintains building ticket.
