The Banquet Server’s role is to provide our guest’s with the assurance that our Banquet, Meeting & Event team is dedicated to the flawless execution of their events and through our Hallmarks we recognize, address and commit to providing service excellence that demonstrates the value we place on our guest’s business.  Our Hallmarks will also serve as a beacon of service standards to our Delta Community members enabling them to better serve our guest’s with an enhanced, focused commitment to our standards supported by training, empowerment and accountability.


  • Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food & beverage, and audiovisual services, including bar services for the Banquet Department year
  • Provide a consistently high standard of service in areas such as meeting set?ups, turnovers, registration areas and all meal functions related to group.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Report any deficiencies in equipment or level of supplies to the Banquet leader.
  • Effectively handle guest concerns.
  • Participation in departmental meetings, inter?departmental meetings, shift-briefings and incentive programs.
  • Several types of service involved, including plated and buffet dinners and breakfasts, working lunches, coffee breaks and banquet bartending.
  • Complete set up and tear down of meetings, and functions, including the moving of banquet tables and chairs.
  • Providing creative propping and room decoration for theme dinners and functions
  • Catering to groups of 5 – 1000 guests in house and off-site
  • Readingand understanding Banquet Event Orders.
  • Direct contact with Conference/Sales Services Team and kitchen to ensure accurate setup of function
  • Working with team members and individually
  • Liaison with Audio Video department to ensure proper working of A/V according to function needs
  • Adhere to all Environmental polices and procedures as required.
  • Is guided by established procedures and quality standards
  • Assists with the development and adheres to implementation of new policies and process improvements Ensures Quality Standards and Hallmark Deliverables are adhered to
  • Anticipates and responds to verbal and nonverbal needs of the internal/external guests
  • Exercises independent judgment on standard operational decisions


  • Minimum one year experience in Food and Beverage operation
  • Certification of Serve Safe (Responsible Beverage Service)
  • Able to work flexible hours (shift work)
  • Proven ability to professionally and effectively use judgment in resolving guest issues
  • Proven past experience in managing conflicting priorities
  • Responsible, reliable and honest 
  • Self-motivated with ability to work well with limited supervision
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills required
  • Bilingual (French) an asset
  • Graduate of tourism hospitality program an asset
  • Able to stand and\or walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to carry up to 20 kg

Reports directly to Banquet Captain & Banquet Manager. 

$10.20 per hour, plus gratuities.
